PCB design for a pinball machine.
Design and prototyping of an interface board to extract bus data for an aftermarket soundboard. This small PCB fits in between the CPU and the system bus, and do the address decoding logic to sample the sound data and send them to the high-end soundboard.
The constraints of making this board involve the mechanical fitting, the logic interface and respect of the bus time constraints. It is particularly challenging, as it makes the bridge between the old school electronics used in pinball machines from the 2000’s and a newly developed, Linux-based aftermarket accessory.
